My wife lost her virginity...

...in tattoos, you perverts...

Timppa of Otherside Tattoo did a great job and handled a first timer only like a true professional does.

The result was quite a bit larger than she had prepared for but she's happy with it. Can't think of a reason why shouldn't she.

Poker fun

Night of Texas Hold'em, few beers and plenty of fun - a perfect way to spend a saturday night!

 Winner takes it all...

And maybe just couple of after-game beers...

You know how they call us Europeans free-spirited?

I guess there's something to it - looks like we're getting weed in truckloads now. Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this on the way home.

Is it just me...

...or do all the Finnish bikers look like Amon Amarth?

Or maybe Neil Fallon of Clutch?

Long term project finally done

I had the luck to be part of this project, it sure was an interesting one and took it's time - but it's rewarding to see it done. Here the main creator Lunkka takes the bike on a maiden voyage.

Flake pegs on cheap

So my Ironhead is crying for flake pegs to go with the paintjob but all I had was a pair of OEM pegs and a set of funky 80's aluminium ones - complete with lightning bolts... Of course I could've just bought a set but being the cheap bastard that I am, I dug through my parts stash and found a pair of flake grips. They were almost perfect for the aluminium pegs, just the left side grip being smaller required turning the peg thinner.

Ironhead drum brake with springer

Fitting a Sportster drum brake to a springer front end requires some thought since the brake backing plate can't be bolted to the fork leg like it originally is. It has to be floating so it'll move with the suspension. So some kind of a bearing was in order.

First the axle hole had to be turned all the way to the reinforcing boss.

Here side by side with unmolested plate.

Then turned a piece of aluminium to hold the bearings.

The piece is a press fit to the plate.

Then quick polish and call it done.

Trial fit wit a temporary reaction bar. Shovelhead head bolts make for a nice fasteners...

All the cool cats chop their cam covers

But I dare to be different... First some scetching and drilling.

Then out comes the air saw, after hour of work and few blades...

Still needs some final touches and proper polish but you get the idea

Progress on evo oil pump project

Ironhead engine case has oil pump mounted much lower than on an evo. That leads to serious frame modification because evo pump is taller.

Traveling with style

Friends from Tampere chose a Lincoln limousine for their trip to bi-annual Biker Meet in Helsinki. It's nice to have plenty of room to stretch your legs.

Hey, it's Saturday - don't worry be happy!

Next up on Ironhead project "Dirty Bastard"

My -71 Ironhead was a basket case when I got it due to destroyed crank pin. There were metal filings all over the engine, including the oil pump.

So, instead of spending shitload of money on a new pump I decided to see if there was a possibility to mount an evosportster pump instead. Doesn't look promising...

But problems are meant to be solved so in the next coming weeks I hope this will be functional.

My fifteen minutes...

Guys from Swedish MCM magazine wanted to run an article of my bike, photoshoot took place at the beautiful waterfront of Helsinki.
